Why Chiropractic is Essential to Your New Year's Resolution

Thinking ahead to 2020

Many of you are trying to work up the motivation to begin your New Year’s Resolutions.  I know I am.

It always seems that most of these include exercise.  Obviously exercise is great for improving your overall health, an aid in losing weight, and is ideal for decreasing back and joint pain because it strengthens the muscles that support our spine and joints.  However, after long periods of, let’s say, not being quite so active, joints can tend to lose some of their mobility which can affect their ability to function and move as they are supposed to.  Of course, arthritis, age and stress are also big contributors.

Anyway, this leads me to the point of all this. When starting your resolutions for the new year, remember that throwing yourself into an exercise program that your body is not accustomed to can be quite a shock on your spine and joints. They might not be ready. This can lead not only to increased soreness from your workout but also to an increased risk of injury.

Chiropractic treatment works to increase the joint function and mobility which can be greatly beneficial to a new workout routine and help to decrease your risk of an injury.  Please call us in Tulsa at 664-2273 for a check-up. We are thrilled to be a part of your exercise regimen.

Now, one more thing.  If you’re over 25, try to stretch a bit before your workout begins. Studies show that stretching, especially after age 25, can help prevent some of those nasty injuries.

Thank you all for making us the Tulsa Chiropractor with the most success stories!
