• How Laughter and Chiropractic Heal the Body
    But did you know that laughter has some of the same healing effects as chiropractic care? Laughing is an all-natural way of lowering pain levels and relieving stress, just like Chiropractic care. Laugher reduces the level of stress hormones in the body. Stress hormones like cortisol raise your blood pressure, increase your heart rate and prepare your body for a fight or flight response. Prolonged stress has negative effects on your heart, as well as your entire cardiovascular system, causing unwanted side effects like weight gain. Chiropractic treatments release muscle tension and pressure on the nerves, allowing the body to relax, function more optimally, and heal properly. Laughter also helps release endorphins, our body's natural mood enhancers. Exercise does this as well. These chemicals; neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, are our body's natural opioids, and they give us a feeling of overall balance and wellness. Chiropractic care does the same thing by releasing muscle tension and tightness around the nerve roots of our skeletal system, and by enhancing the functionality of the nerves in the body.
