Why Your Back Hurts For No Reason

Back pain is usually caused when the vertebrae, discs, muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments in the spine are not moving together properly.

If there is a disruption in the delicate balance of this movement, you get pain. If some wear and tear develops, you get pain. If scar tissue develops to heal an injury, and that scar tissue tears later on, you get pain. If you maintain poor posture, putting lots of pressure on the spine, you get pain. Even becoming dehydrated can cause joint pain.

While most of these conditions can be successfully treated by your Tulsa chiropractor, Dr. Christopher Cole, it is easy to see that you don't have to experience a huge, lightning bolt type of event to develop back pain. In fact, back pain is experienced by around 80% of adults. One of the most common statements we hear in our office is,

"But Doc, I didn't DO anything to cause this!"

But we can assure you, healthy spines should not have pain. Pain is a sign that something is not working properly. Something is wrong. It could just be a small misalignment that is easily adjusted and feels better immediately. Or it might be more intense.  Whatever the cause, it is best to get it treated before it gets worse.

Chiropractic treatment is the best place to start for back and joint pain. It is the most conservative route to treatment, is  non-invasive, drug-free and is very safe. In fact, insurance companies prefer that you try a course of chiropractic treatment before you seek pain management or surgery.

If you have any questions, or would like to talk to Dr. Cole to see if chiropractic can help, give us a call. We always make time for people who are in pain.
